DESCRIPTION: The Information System Analyst (ISA) is responsible for computer and telecommunication network operations and independently provides end-user support.  He/she troubleshoots and conducts maintenance repairs and installation activities.  The ISA assembles and installs new computer and telecommunications equipment; configures local area networks requiring the use of standard interface protocols and assists in installation of cabling and phones. They analyze, design, test, and evaluate network systems, such as local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), Internet, intranet, and other data communications systems.  He/she provides end-user support that includes resolving data processing problems and conducting scheduled system backups. The ISA maintains system documentation, configures phone switch and voice mail; configures network computers, peripheral equipment, networks, and communications equipment and provides support for user’s other software and hardware needs.  They analyze user requirements, system capabilities, workflow procedures and limitations.  They research and recommend improvements to existing network and data communications hardware and software systems; oversee and maintain system networks; install and configure personal network computers and install other telecommunication hardware and software.  The ISA analyzes and recommends commercially available hardware and software to the Director of Information Systems (DIS), and is responsible for educating and training employees on baseline applications, operation, and security. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Be a high school graduate or have equivalent GED

Have a minimum of two years Microsoft Windows server experience

Have a minimum three years technical experience or specific appropriate training

Have in-depth network experience, including TCP/IP, mail gateways and firewalls

Have Web server design and creation experience

MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer) qualification preferred

College degree in a Information Systems specialty preferred 

Have a valid driver’s license

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Knowledge of networking and telecommunications (data)

·        routers, hubs, csu/dsus

·        understanding of TCP/IP WANs and LANs

Knowledge of MS Exchange 5.0 Server

Knowledge of Windows XP

Knowledge of Microsoft Office (2003 and later)

Knowledge of Windows NT Server

Knowledge of Internet Connectivity, SMPT, HTTP, FTP

Knowledge of Firewalls - (Sophos preferred)

Skill in troubleshooting PC connectivity

Skill in troubleshooting network, software and hardware failures

Skill working with hubs, switches, bridges, routers, interconnecting hardware and Windows registry

Skill in web page development

Ability to work as a team and independently without direct supervision

Ability to maintain office confidentiality

Ability to communicate with the public and other employees

Ability to follow directions well, and get along with other people

Ability and willingness to perform the job requirements of this position

 

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:

·        Troubleshoot, repair, maintain, install, and perform testing activities on various computer equipment, peripherals, data communication, and computer network systems

·        Assemble, install, configure and test computer equipment or units of local area networks requiring use of standard interface protocols

·        Submit equipment repair warranties

·        Connect and move devices, install disk drives, correct definitions on data switches, protocol converters, etc.

·        Confer with manufacturer's representatives, faculty, and staff in determining equipment warrantees and repairs

·        Develop and maintain software and hardware inventory and tracking systems; develop inventory lists and order, stock, and store electronic components;

·        Prepare and submit vendor warranty claims, parts, and documentation associated with warranty repairs

·        Install cable for the phone system. Perform moves, adds, deletes and other changes for phone use. Set up calling features such as Automatic Call Distribution (ACD) groups, pick groups, call processing, and voice mail. Provide phone support and training to new users and solve miscellaneous phone problems

·        Configure and set up servers to work with various programs; install software including, but not limited to, Microsoft XP, Office products, Sophos and Adobe

·        Ensure server backups and networked user backups are performed on a regular basis

·        Provide support to users relating to both hardware and software problems on their networked computers

·        Perform preventive maintenance for computer, data communication, and/or peripheral equipment; test and adjust to appropriate standards

·        Maintain computer network documentation; update computer maintenance manuals

·        Regular and satisfactory attendance and punctuality

·       Perform related duties as assigned.

 

SUPERVISION:  The ISA is employed by the Marion County Commission and is supervised by, and reports directly to, the DIS.  This is a non-exempt professional, technical position and there is no supervisory authority.

DESCRIPTION: The Deputy Circuit Clerk oversees the Circuit Clerk’s records management program and serves as the custodian of official Circuit Court records and legal documents for the County.  This position requires administrative and advanced clerical work and oversight of numerous administrative service functions to include providing administrative support to the Circuit Courts.  The Deputy Circuit Clerk is responsible for the processing of various actions of the Circuit Court and must assure that all legal requirements are met.  Work involves responsibility for the coordination of the Circuit Courts activities and records; development of procedures for the protection, identification and recovery of vital court records; and responsibility for collecting monies and preparing daily deposit receipts / ledger entries. This position has specific responsibilities for coordinating with the Circuit Courts, Family Court, and other administrative staff.  This position requires STRICT CONFIDENTIALITY in regard to managed information.

QUALIFICATIONS:  A bachelor’s degree in business management, records management, public administration or a related field is preferred but not required.  A Two year college or technical degree with courses in secretarial skills, business or public administration, records management and / or office management; OR five years clerical experience is required.  Also required is a general knowledge and experience with using Microsoft Word, Access and Excel.  Candidates must possess a high degree of written and/or verbal communication skills in dealing with other employees, clients, or the general public.  The ideal candidate will possess an advanced degree AND a minimum of four years of related work experience, OR any equivalent combination of education and progressively responsible experience.  Additional work experience substitutes for the required education on a year for year basis.  Prior clerk experience or other work in a government setting is of importance.

 

SUPERVISION:  The employee falls under the Circuit Clerk and is supervised by, and reports directly to, the Deputy Circuit Clerk. There is no employee supervisory authority.
