July 1 –Assessment Day for following year taxes
July 15 –Sheriff mails Statements (bills) for current year taxes due (based on property owned July 1 of preceding yearJ
uly 15 –Sheriff begins collection of current year taxes, allowing a discount of 2.5% if paid by Sept 1
Sept 2 –Discount of 2.5% is no longer allowed on first half payments
Oct 2 –Interest of 9% per annum (.75% per month) is applied to first half payments
March 2 –Discount of 2.5% is no longer allowed on second half payments
April 2 –Interest of 9% per annum (.75% per month) is applied to second half payments and only full year payment may be accepted
May 1 –Unpaid taxes are published in newspaper as Delinquent and fees are added
Sept 1 –Unpaid Real Estate Taxes are published in newspaper to be offered at Tax Lien Sale and additional fees are added
Sept 1 –Real Estate Property Owners and Lienholders that registered with the Tax Office are notified by Certified Mail that property is subject to Tax Lien Sale for Delinquent Taxes, and additional fees are added
Mid Nov –Sheriff holds Tax Lien Sale to auction Delinquent Real Estate to highest bidder
Delinquent Business personal Property Tax Calendar
May 1–Unpaid Business Personal Property Taxes are published in newspaper as Delinquent and fees are added
Sept 15–Business owners are notified by Certified Mail that Personal Property Taxes are Delinquent and State Tax Commissioner may refuse to renew Business License, and additional fees are added
Oct 15 –Sheriff provides list of Delinquent Business Personal Property Taxes to State Tax Commissioner
Oct 15 and every Friday following –Sheriff provides notice to State Tax Commissioner of payments or exonerations of Delinquent Business Personal property Taxes
